From 1 to 3 November, 2017 in the capital of India Delhi is an international forum for the prevention and prevention of forest fires. It was organized by the world Bank. The Republic of Belarus is represented by first Deputy forestry Minister Alexander Kulik.

Within a few days international exhibitors will present their developed system to suppress fires, are implemented on the territory of their countries. The Belarusian experience in the protection of forests from fires were shared by the representative of the Ministry of forestry.

As noted in his speech, Alexander Kulik, the detection system of forest fires in Belarus based on the implementation of terrestrial monitoring, remote visual monitoring, remote video monitoring, aviation and space monitoring, which provides in recent years, the detection of 78 % of fires with an area of 0.1 hectares.

The effectiveness of the existing in Belarus management structure for protection of forests from fires prove established over the last decade two historic minimum in area after forest fires: in 2011 (115,6 ha) and 2013 (50,0 ha).

This year the specialists of the Ministry of forestry managed to reduce the number of fires more than 2 times: from 270 to 121 cases. The area of fires has decreased three times: from 213 to 71 ha.

Special attention to the forestry Ministry has to strengthen the material-technical base of forestry. So, in 2016 at the expense of loan of the International Bank for reconstruction and development, the procurement of 8 fire engines and 31 of the all terrain vehicle for forest protection. Also, the Ministry of forestry from the Ministry of defence was pereday 20 tracked chassis GT-MU for fighting fires in remote, swampy area.
